adhd support

Whether you have an ADHD diagnosis, are considering an assessment, or simply want to better understand yourself or your child, support can make a significant difference. At Bold Minds ND, we provide neuro-affirming ADHD assessments, guidance, and practical support for children, adults, families, schools, and workplaces, helping people understand their strengths, navigate challenges, and thrive.

what is adhd?

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects how people process information, regulate attention, manage emotions, organise tasks, and navigate everyday life.

Despite its name, ADHD is not simply about attention. Many people with ADHD can focus intensely on things they enjoy, while finding it difficult to start, prioritise, or complete tasks that feel less engaging. ADHD can also impact emotional regulation, energy levels, memory, time management, and decision-making.

ADHD presents differently in different people. Some individuals may appear highly active and impulsive, whilst others may seem quiet, reflective, or frequently overwhelmed. This is one reason why many people, particularly women and girls, are not identified until later in life.

Children and adults with ADHD often describe feeling as though they have to work harder than others to stay organised, manage responsibilities, or meet expectations. Over time, this can lead to frustration, anxiety, low self-esteem, or burnout.

At Bold Minds ND, we take a neuro-affirming approach to ADHD. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, we help individuals and families understand how their brain works, recognise strengths, and identify strategies that support everyday life.

Whether you have a diagnosis, are exploring assessment, or simply want to better understand ADHD, support can begin at any stage of the journey.

support with or without a diagnosis

Many people assume they need a formal ADHD diagnosis before they can access support. In reality, understanding and support can begin long before an assessment takes place.

Whether you're exploring the possibility of ADHD, waiting for an assessment, recently diagnosed, or simply trying to make sense of your experiences, support can help you better understand how your brain works and what strategies may be beneficial.

At Bold Minds ND, we support children, adults, and families by helping them navigate challenges commonly associated with ADHD, including:

• Emotional regulation and overwhelm
• Executive functioning and organisation
• Time management and planning
• Burnout and energy management
• School, college, and workplace challenges
• Self-esteem and confidence
• Understanding strengths and support needs

Our approach is always neuro-affirming and tailored to the individual. Rather than focusing on "fixing" behaviours, we help people understand their needs, build on their strengths, and develop practical strategies that work in everyday life.

For some people, support is a stepping stone towards assessment. For others, it provides the understanding and guidance they need without pursuing a diagnosis at all.

Wherever you are on your journey, you don't have to wait for a diagnosis to start understanding yourself or your child.
