assessments.

What types of assessments do you offer?

We offer child and adult Autism assessments, ADHD assessments, combined Autism & ADHD assessments, and screening options. All assessments are neuro-affirming, evidence-based, and designed to help you understand your unique profile.

Are your assessments online or in person?

All assessments are carried out online via secure video call. This allows people to be in a comfortable environment, reduces stress, and makes the process more accessible for families and individuals.

How long does the assessment process take?

It varies depending on the assessment type, but most involve multiple appointments over several weeks. We prioritise being thorough and supportive rather than rushed. You will receive a full report once all parts of the assessment are completed.

Who completes the assessment?

Our assessments are carried out by qualified professionals experienced in Autism, ADHD, and neurodivergence. You’ll be introduced to your assessor beforehand and supported throughout the process. All of our clinicians have lived neurodivergent experience.

What do I need to prepare for an assessment?

We’ll send you all the information you need, including questionnaires and any documents we require. You don’t need to prepare anything “special”, just be yourself. We aim to make every step clear and stress-free.

Will I receive a written report?

Yes. Every full assessment includes a detailed, clear, and neuro-affirming report outlining your strengths, needs, profile, and recommendations for support at home, school, work, or in daily life.

Are your assessments recognised for school, workplace, or GP support?

Yes. Our reports meet clinical and professional standards such as NICE guidelines and are accepted for reasonable adjustments, workplace accommodations, school support conversations, and wider advocacy.

Do you offer follow-up support after the assessment?

Absolutely. We offer neurodivergent support sessions, report translation, education/workplace guidance, and practical strategies to help you or your child move forward with confidence.

How much do assessments cost?

Our prices are clearly listed on our prices page for transparency. Payment plans are available to make the process more accessible.

How do I know which assessment is right for me or my child?

If you’re unsure, we offer free consultation calls. We’ll talk through your concerns, answer your questions, and help you decide what feels like the best fit.

How long is your waiting list?
Once your payment and questionnaires are received, we’ll offer you your first assessment appointment within two weeks. At Bold Minds, we choose to stay intentionally small so that you’re not left waiting for months. This means reduced anxiety, responsive communication, and a calm, contained process from the very start.

I don't want a diagnosis, but I want to understand my brain, can you help?
Absolutely. Bold Understanding is specifically designed for you. It’s a non-diagnostic, neuroaffirming space where we explore how your brain works, why certain patterns show up, and what supports actually help you thrive; without needing or pursuing a formal assessment. Many people choose Bold Understanding because they’re curious, reflective, or seeking clarity, not labels. You’ll leave with a personalised understanding of your needs, strengths, barriers, and next steps, all without entering the diagnostic pathway.

Can adults be diagnosed with Autism?

Yes. Many autistic people are not identified until adulthood, particularly women and those who have developed coping or masking strategies. An adult Autism Assessment can provide clarity, understanding, and support regardless of your age.

Can women and girls present differently in Autism assessments?

Yes. Autism can present differently in women and girls, which is one reason many are identified later in life. Our neuro-affirming assessments consider masking, internalised experiences, and the unique ways Autism may present across different individuals.

What happens if I do not meet the criteria for an Autism diagnosis?

Not meeting diagnostic criteria does not mean your experiences are invalid. We will discuss the outcome with you and provide recommendations, insights, and support options based on your individual strengths and needs.

Can I have both Autism and ADHD?

Yes. Many people are both autistic and ADHD (sometimes referred to as AuDHD). If there are indicators of both profiles, we can discuss whether a combined assessment may be appropriate.

Do you assess children and teenagers?

Yes. We offer Autism Assessments for children, teenagers, and adults. The assessment process is adapted according to age and individual needs.

Can I use my assessment report to request support at school or university?

Yes. Our reports can be used to support conversations around reasonable adjustments, educational support, access arrangements, and understanding individual needs within educational settings.

What are the signs that an Autism Assessment may be helpful?

People seek Autism Assessments for many reasons. Common signs include differences in communication, social interaction, sensory processing, emotional regulation, routines, or feeling different from peers. If you're unsure, we recommend booking a free consultation call to discuss your concerns.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We understand that private assessments can be a significant investment, which is why we offer payment plan options to help make assessments more accessible.

What happens after I receive my report?

Following your assessment, we can support you with report translation, neurodivergent coaching, parent support, workplace guidance, education support, and practical strategies to help you move forward with confidence.
